Galloway Training in Saltcoats is looking for an enthusiastic graduate to work with its development team in the scoping and planning of a new project which aims to support young homeless people in North Ayrshire. This is envisaged initially as a one stop shop for information and advice, leading eventually to wider service provision.
The project is in its development stage and the main tasks will be:
- Liaison with local agencies, employers, young people and other stakeholders to assess needs and gather information
- Liaison with young homeless people to inform the design of service solutions
- Researching available resources and opportunities to build on these
- Working with colleagues to fit service design to available resources
- Working on marketing strategies to promote the service to partner agencies and potential service users.
The ideal candidate will have a background in a social sciences related discipline and some experience of research and/or community development. Excellent communication skills (oral and written) are essential. An understanding of current equality legislation and a commitment to an all inclusive and community led approach to social regeneration is also desired.
